Get Out the Vote 2000

Graphic design is a powerful means of communicating civic messages and stimulating thinking about the issues that define our world.

AIGA asked designers from around the United States to create nonpartisan posters that would encourage the American public to participate in the electoral process, and to vote for a presidential candidate in November 2000. Twenty-three designs were produced; all can be seen here.

In partnership with Yupo Paper, AIGA printed 25,000 posters that were posted by members as part of the design profession's national "Get Out the Vote" campaign. The posters appeared in schools, libraries, corporate cafeterias and other gathering places around the country.
